i have bought the brakemotive slotted rotors and ceramic pads all around, installed since beginning of august. About 270 CND shipped to Alberta. Improved stopping power no squeaks, worth the $

this dated thread has my mouth watering. going to be looking for parts all afternoon. I need pretty much an entire brake set replacement. Anybody have any sweet deals?! (i'm new to the forum so i will be stumbling around the site and figuring this out the hard way..)
the feedback you are looking for is likely subjective, or seat of the pants feel and not likely to represent what the rotor is about.
with that being said; this Hawk drilled and slotted rotor will stop your car, and is as good as any other rotor out on the current market
The feedback im looking for is hopefully first hand. I ran slotted rotors on my g2 legend coupe and they were ok. Im aware of slotted/cross drilled being more a look than anything else in todays braking world (outside of on a track) but I also know its imperative to make sure one buys a reputable and quality rotor in terms of materials when it comes to non blank rotors as they can break or crack especially if sourced from a poor random brand due to materials.
Hawk is pretty solid. So yes im looking/hoping to see if anyone's run these particular rotors before i pull the trigger.

I've heard that cross drilled introduces the risk is micro fractures that can develop into cracks or catalyze warping. I personally just buy Centric blanks on Amazon and a ceramic pad set from the brick and mortar stores. If you want a look, I would go slotted and call it a day.
There have been many, many brake threads here, and none of them have any data to back up the results. It's all just anecdotal evidence. If you buy quality parts, you will do as well or slightly better than OEM. The biggest gains will be in your wallet.
I've seen drilled rotors crack first hand. Granted, they were in dire need of replacement well before they cracked. Personally I love the slotted and blank options.
Stoptech crossdrilled/slotted and EBC redpads installed
So its been awhile. I havent logged in, in 2 years. Be honest at this point im looking to get rid of my RL. Anyway needed new brakes, so i had some stoptech rotors and ebc redpads sitting around forever. Had them put on this a.m. Front only.
First thing i have to say...love them. The bite compared to OEM is far superior. No squeaks at all. The minute i attempt to apply pressure to my brakes is almost instantaneous. I bought my stoptech rotors from xlr8 2 yrs ago. This is just a quick review. I will post again when i surpass 500 miles. No squeaks at all. I even bedded them in properly. Pics are below. I purchased this set for my 07 as well, and installed them this weekend, bedded them in yesterday.
Customer Service: typically easy eBay transaction, Brakemotive has stellar reviews. I made the mistake of only purchasing the fronts initially, and contacted the seller to see if I could return them to order the full set. They made the process much easier, and charged me the balance for the rear set. The CS rep was very responsive via emails, and this was all handled in the same day.
Packaging: Seems like the front rotors were handled pretty roughly by the UPS guy, given their weight. Must have been dropped on one side, because the cardboard outer was torn clear away, exposing the plastic wrap beneath. But no damage to the rotors or pads inside. Rears arrived no problem. Handy passenger/driver side labels on the rotors, and the pads were nicely wrapped separately from the rotors.
Install: For what it's worth, the pads were stamped "Powerstop" on the backing plate, which leads me to believe that these are similar (if not the same) as the brake packages being sold on Amazon under the name "Brakewerkz", although at a higher price. There wasn't any excessive oil on the rotors but I did wipe them down with warm water and soap just in case.
Performance: I followed a basic bed-in process best I could on public roads. 4 stops from 45 to 5'ish with no full stops. Then 8 from 60 down to around 25 on the highway, then 4 no-brake hours on the interstate to Detroit. There is barely any dusting, the brakes are quiet with no squeal, a feel firm and responsive. I can't say that they feel dramatically better than OEM, but for the price they are good so far.
We'll see how they hold up long term, as cross-drilled wouldn't have been my first choice and I'm concerned with cracking.
If it's OEM, it's probably better. I can't see centric/stoptech rotors being better unless they are slotted or coated on the areas that tend to rust over time.
^meh, i would have to argue that at the same price point...a rotor = a rotor. a chunk of iron.
and I would choose based off of place of purchase; if they had any coupons to make it cheaper, or if customer service is on point. etc.
I upgraded my rotors to stop tech cross drilled/slotted w ebc red pads. I noticed a huge difference in braking feel. Brake pedal was much more responsive. Ebc red pads however, you will get a lot of dust first few weeks, once broken in it will drop considerably.
I will never ever get anything but OEM from now on moving forward. Stock rotors are about 100$ a piece, and brake pads about 150-160$ plus labor... anything I tried is just a shallow copy of what I had dealer install on one occassion as a courtesy.
For that feel of braking, I am going back to OEM when it comes to brakes.
