So while driving to work this morning the "check power steering system" went off. I have not gotten a chance to check the fluid yet, is this typical? Or is there something else that could be wrong with the car?

there was a power steering hose recall, I would have them check it out again even if you had this done.

not typical, at least from what I have seen on this board. I would check level and then perhaps check with the dealer.

I get the impression that the "check power steering system" light went ON and not off. Isn't the light going off a good thing?

I have the light ON now all the time. I checked the Fluid and it's Ok and Fluid level is normal. I dont know what else to check I will be getting It in for a check up next week.
