Changed rear shocks and end links...now AFS light flashes

I see there is a sensor in the driver rear suspension related to AFS. Not sure what my mechanic friend did to make this AFS light flash, but anyone have any input or suggestions in diagnosing this driver rear AFS sensor? Never had this AFS flashing in the dash until today when he did the rear shocks, removed the rear seats and all. Car runs great, he also installed moog ends links, front and rear, RL is much smoother on the highway and turns feel firm.

He must have damaged something back there. The AFS unit has an arm attatched to the shock.

The stroke sensor probably got damaged in the process. It is possible is isn't properly secured and the constant vibration is causing it to throw a fit.

well the afs light comes on immediately when turning the car on, still in park, not moving. the headlight does swivel on startup, but wont swivel when driving and turning. i found a procedure to calibrate the afs, but its pretty confusing. no luck there yet, but i will try the procedure again tomorrow.

just found this via search function, took a while to find this, but i will attempt tomorrow. Hopefully this cleaning procedure of the driver rear sensor fixes the afs light.

For housekeeping purposes, I put this in the suspension subforum.

My mechanic installed the stroke sensor dial backwards, it just needs to be turned about 180° to properly match the female part of the stroke sensor arm.

I actually didn't see this until I went to install an eBay stroke sensor, which works fine. A quick afs search will pull up that thread.

No need to buy the $200 stroke sensor from dealer, thanks to the info provided on this forum.
