Blizzaks anyone?

Damn they are EXPENSIVE in the OEM 245/50-17 sizes. I did order a set from Tire Rack since I had a spare set of RL wheels. Anyone have Blizzaks? Seems like most ppl are getting winter tires in alternative sizes.

I had Blizzaks LM-25 on my '03 Maxima (FWD) and the car was very very solid on bad, winter roads. Day and night difference when compared to my 'all-season' tires. Blizzaks are pricey but well worth it. I also like Michelin Alpine Pilots and Nokian snow tires.

Blizzak LM 25s on my other car ( RWD Lexus SC430 ). I can actually drive through a couple of inches of snow accumulation with minimal slipping on those tires which is good considering its RWD.

You can mount alternate, narrower, snow tires on the OEM rims. Not only is that preferable for moving in (deeper) snow, the tires are a lot less expensive than the OEM size. I used 225/55-17.

Check the link for sizing.

I ended up going one size smaller like foam said. They are 225/55-17 Dunlop Graspic DS-3's. They are only $107 each on Tire Rack and then you won't be "plowing" as much snow.

Yes, I will definitely go with smaller sizes next time for some more options. The Blizzaks in OEM sizes cost almost 1k for the set.

^ Seriously. This combo may be a bit overkill, but kicking all kinds of ass.

I put a set of Firestone Winterforce 225/55R17 on my second set of stock wheels back at the beginning of November, and they too have been unstoppable. I've had a few good Utah winter storms to test them out and they have been great!
