Staggered is generally not recommended for AWD, but plenty of people have ignored this in the quest for the RWD performance look. That being said, please pay attention to at least keeping the same rolling diameter front and rear.

The only challenge I would make to this is, how often do you really use your AWD? If you are taking your car to the track maybe I would agree with OLD_HATCH, but for everyday normal driving your AWD system is almost never fully utilized. Have you ever watched the AWD in the MID? Even during what I feel is hard cornering, I've never had the system hit is full potential of bars.
Now, I personally don't do a lot of cornering, so for me, the AWD system rarely gets pushed. If you utilize it frequently, I would definately agree with OLD_HATCH, staggered on AWD is a bad idea. If you don't however, I would say it's fine. Many people have; check the forums for bmw, lexus, infiniti, etc. They all have AWD models and members of those forums have been going staggered for years. Just make sure you get the right rolling diameter!

Those cars come from the factory with a staggered setup. Go look through some Subaru or Mitsu Evo forums and see how many of those guys are doing staggered setups, (the answer is none). All AWD systems are not made the same. I would bet that if you asked a Honda/Acura engineer they would definitely advise against doing a staggered setup on an RL.

I agree. 100%. An Acura engineer would definately advise against it. They would also advise against adding 20" wheels. Just wanted to point out the fact that there are lots of people that run staggered setups on AWD. Just do a google search. You can read about the pro's and con's till your eyes bleed.

Acura's early A-Spec concept RL showed in late 2004 had 20x8 in wheels on them. So long as the tire rolling diameter is kept the same, 20's are probably fine. You just have to pay attention to the weight penalty effects.
