Nasty Curb Rash: What do you all do to take care of it?
The rims on my Acura RL have some reallly nasty curb rash. I saw a video on youtube where they suggest sanding, putting bondo in it, and then spray painting it. I have also seen people plastidip them of course, but I don't really like the look. When rims are like this, what can you do? Is it better just to live with it?

There are any number of companies out there with the skills and tools necessary to refurbish your wheels to factory new condition. A local shop by me charges anywhere from $75 to $200 per wheel depending upon what you want done and the level of damage.

Plastidipped wheels look good for a few weeks. Then they start to fade and look like crap. Or people get more curb rash on them but don't repair/respray which adds to the terrible look. If I plastidipped my wheels, I'd either clean and respray every couple of weeks, or use a crap-ton of plastisizer or glossifier and clean them weekly. Otherwise they'll look like all the other "nastydipped" wheels I see around here.

Ya I suppose that there isn't any reason to do it unless I want to. I don't mind the rims as they are but it sounds like a brutal weekend project. Maybe I will take it on if I want to spend some time on it. I just replaced the pleather trim on the doors and center console with leather I got on ebay, so maybe I'll take these on too when I have time.
