Ooooh, good tire choice! I keep hearing stories about great aftermarket rims being paired with some awful no name brand tires. Totally ruins the whole reason for the new rims (ahem....KICK BUTT TIRES).

BTW anyone got the hook ups on the Mugen Lip??? holla. Thanks my Acura FAM! Peace.

As usual, I would call the manufacturer to check fitment and work with your retailer to get a fitment guarantee so that you can return them in the event they do not fit. The RL is a difficult fit. Make sure the wheels are TPMS compatible (probably want them pre installed if you are buying a set of wheels/tires from the same place, have hubcentric fit (probably comes with a ring), and check on the lug seats, because you will probably not be able to use the flat seat OEM lugs. Hopefully they would also supply lugs for you.

Know the RL stock specs so you can speak intelligently with them and detect BS.

I would also check on the weight as 20's can get awfully heavy.

What's the deal with those pics of the TL wheels on the RL? You ever finish or what?

Yeah, I finished a while ago, been too busy with work nowadays!

A quick search and I found this pic of it, not the best to show tires but at least it is something.

Deaddawg, do you have photos for your spacers, and where did you get them from? Thanks

Forgot the pictures, but they are just bolt-on spacers like anything else.

As for where I got them, https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...8&postcount=16

I just spoke with a tech from an acura dealer. He had tried to put a 09 TL rim on a 06 RL. He said it needs 10mm spacer to clear the brake.

Yeah, 19mm is more than I needed, but in order to get bolt-on spacers I had to go 19mm.

I do like how the wheels are pushed out more though.

Kool6123,

With the 12mm spacer were you able to screw on to the stock bolts? Or did you have to extend your bolts coming out of your hub?

7mm spacers

I put 6.5mm washers on the bolts and it clears the brakes. So I ordered 7mm spacers from motorsport-tech. Will update once they come in. By the way, I can turn the nuts 6 times after I put on the washers. Is it safe enough?

Good question. How many times could you turn the nuts with the stock wheels to about 90 lb-ft, and you will have your answer.

Gut feel is you are on the edge, but I do not know.

And assuming the lug nut seats are the same as on the, right? Earlier (2005-2008) non PAX used flat seat or while 2009 and later use a ball (spherical) seat. Not clear to me what the TL uses. I thought I recalled reading the 4G TL uses a ball seat.

Let us know what you find out with the lug turns.

Just installed the 09 TL black chrome wheels on my RL. I used 7mm spacers in front only. It clears the brakes by 1mm(very close) Spacers were ordered from Motor-tech for $45 each, with shipping total $115.
