I agree, at first I thought my 05 looked better than the 11. However the 11 looks a lot more elegant in my mind, it also turns quite a few heads. I always have the new E350s and new 5 series try to race me at the stop lights
I would lower the car, but Canadian winters kill. I'll probably put Lexani CVX-44s on the car. Make it look real sweet

I'm debating if I should put 20s on the car. I'll get a harsher ride, and I'll loose the noise reducing wheels. Hmm. But, the car would look a lot better, for sure.

BTW, those ^ are two different owners.
Agreed on the wheels, but what makes it odd?
I personally like the look of the MMC. The only aesthetic gripe I have is with the reverse lights inset to the trunk chrome, which in the big picture is nothing. The front end has a much more aggressive look. The RL never posed well IMO, and the MMC is no exception. It's only when you see it in person that you truly appreciate the beauty of the design. The beak on the RL never bothered me (unlike the TL), and the newer grills only improved the beak. In addition, I would certainly rock the beak before the gaping 2009 Audi's nose and 2013 Lexus' Predator orifice.
Nice car, Terry!

Thanks 007,
My dad used have an 95 LS, he bought his in 97. Never knew of someone else who had a 2011 RL, interesting. Another MMC was that the designers actually increased the length of the car by 3". Thankfully I bought the Advance car, about 3 months ago I was going 35mph above the speed limit and almost had bad rear end condition, which would've wrecked my car. Fortunately, CMBS did its job.

Yeah 09+ RL do have a nice presence to them on the road. Maybe it's because they are so rare that it's nice to see them around but regardless you can't go wrong with one.

the sharp tail lights are also odd.
agreed, its a nice car, just not something that fits in the last or current line up.

Hey MTLTL,
I really don't see how this car looks anything like an Avalon, from any angle. The dimensions of the car are completely different, as are the lines and overall shape and contours. The 05-08 RLs are starting to show their age, I see them a lot, they just don't turn heads like the used to. Especially with the new mid-size sedans like the E-Class and 5 Series. The 09-12 RLs look the best, they are the most elegant and the most rare, by far. I always have people in 05-08 RLs compliment me on the car. The 11+ RLs are the pinnacle of the 2nd generation RLs.

headlights fog lights and tails.
those are the oddities.
why triangle shaped fogs?!?!??!? when there isnt anything triangle about the body. no sharp lines except for the acura shield grille.
again, not bashing your newly acquired ride, just some things that are sticking out at me

I still don't see it. If anything, the RLXs grille and lights, sort of look like the Avalon. The side profile, rear, and front really don't look like the RL, in my opinion. The RL has more free-flowing lines, and the Avalon is trying to look futuristic, and have very straight lines, I really don't see the similarity from anything. But I think the Avalon is a nice car though.
If you look carefully the fogs, they almost reflect the shape of the headlights.

I guess this is what threw me off. Have you not seen one yet, or did you think the 2011 is significantly different from 2009 or 2010?
Honestly, I have seen at least 5 different MMCs on the road, and I see one about once every other month. I see what you are saying about the fog lights in the pictures, but the fog lights have never stood out in person. Like I said earlier, pictures don't do justice to the RL. Probably the same way the Avalon looks like a bloated Asian sperm whale in a picture but looks wonderful in person. It's probably my favorite Toyota (not Lexus) sedan design to date.
