you guess it right... You will have to go through the digital menu to do all of that and this is why I swap the unit.

That's nuts. I hate when automakers make these things confusing/complicated.

I did this mod a while back. I think I was the first to do this. It's simple and straight forward. On the head unit it's a bit more tricky 09+ RL got bluetooth audio so that part needs to be in also with aux and usb input. To complete that, you'll need a usb unit that goes behind the glove box, main harness, and the plugs in the center arm rest box. Nicely done with the climate control

I currently have the grom unit and it’s been good for me so far so I’ll just be upgrading climate control because I hate going into the nav screen to adjust climate settings. That’s the only reason I’m doing the climate control swap.

Finally i got a chance to replace my front pads which was low and causing weird thump noise when come to a complete stop. Happy thanksgiving everyone.
LCA bushing starting to crack but nothing to worry about too much, I am surprise how well it lasted compare to my TL.
Good old oil pump assembly start to leak oil, this is why you should get your pump reseal during 105k service.

eventually... yes, I had seen a RL with 180k miles and the bushing look almost the same as mine. The RL bushing is not replaceable via OEM route so I will buy a new lower control arm which come with lower ball joint as well. In my TL you can replace just the bushing.

Was gonna do the t3 bulb but since you can’t change the radio ones I didn’t like the mismatch look (top bright below, radio ones dark). I had two burnt ones on the climate control and just replaced them with Oem. All of them including hazard and passenger airbag ones so I don’t have to go back in there for a while.

you will be much happier that you replaced the hazard switch one.

Merry Christmas, I got couple days off from work so I decide to replace the lower grill piece. The previous owner seem like he trying to bandage fix instead replace the whole thing but anyway here are the pics.
Please don't mind the dirty car as I just moved.
the old piece.
Everything is back together.
Job finished.

The interior light is easy to replace its like 10-20 mins job, however for the button on the steering wheel you will need to replace the entire button assembly.

Well since you asked.
I got some down time last week to catch up with with couple item that on my "to do" list.
***Before***
After on the passenger headlight
***Half way there lol***
Both headlight is done and I can't stand how dirty the RL was so I end up washing the entire car.
every single TL/RL problem, I am glad I had these in stock while I bought 4 caps for the TL.
New cabin air filter and yes the filter is OEM placed with the correct directional airflow arrow.
The old nasty one.

like the most for what purpose lol? The RL is my DD now and the TL-S barely see sunlight and as far as the Base TL goes that more for like a poor man RL car lol.
I had my fair share with clear coat headlight, its all fun UNTIL the clear coat bubble and peeling off. Holly shack its a PITA to remove them.

HI, I just got a RL and the fan speed AC button is extremely annoying. Looking to do the swap like you did A couple questions. Is it just plug and play? When you push the fan speed button, now does it show changes on the Navi screen? Or does it just do it and screen stays where it is? Same for the fan positions. Thanks and clean looking car.

Ok its been a long update, I had been busy and you can see the reason in the picture below lol. The RL is now handling my daily drive, I plan to drive it for another oil change or two before giving a complete refresh suspension, rack and pinion, motor mounts, and that dam seeping rear main seal.
sorry but some of these pics is not in order.
I come home from work one day around Dec 18 the RL decide to give a spirit by lits up the dash with light
One sensor piss off all 3 systems together, after I scanned the code went for a test drive to confirm the cause. If anyone experience the issues as above, put the car in sport mode and use paddle or shifter to shift up.
The car will some time ignore your input, gear indicator will flash under WOT. I am surprise the sensor last this long before it throw a code, my TL-S sensor goes bad around 90k miles so replace this one is an easy job.
Here is the part number for those interested.
Don't worry the car still have 3 points of contact, e-brake engaged and the gear box is in park instead of neutral as "recommended" by forum member.
The next day my RL decide to play the game "I am not working today" lol. If you get the replacement non OEM make sure its a flat top otherwise the fuse box won't fit over, just see pics below for reference.
I still have a pics back in 06 that taken at the local Acura dealer.
12 years later lol.
I just pick up another TL, this one is too good for pass up. I have another thread for the SSM TL in 3G TL section.

If I had to guess...$2000
I'm with you on that...most people see a 15 year old car over 150K and think it should be put out to pasture.
The golden ticket is that manual transmission...
I'm currently looking at ones too but I'm not will to pay more than about that since I don't mind the sweat equity.
