JDMCR 05 RL Build 19' PCD's Exhaust Pulley and more

Thought i would start a build thread for the car.

Picked up a 05 in summer of 2014. One owner doctor from toronto, never winter driven. Got it for a good price as the whole car was repainted in 2007 from dings in the door. Paint work was very well done with some areas i can live with.

So far

19" Diamond Cut wheels
10mm wheel spacers
10mm Extended wheel studs

Parts to go on

RV6 PCD
IMR J Pipe
IMR High Flow cat
IMR Intake box
P2R Intake Manifold thermo gasket
XLR8 Stock dia crank pulley
H&R Springs
09 Front and Rear sway bars

This is my summer daily driver so this should wake the car up.

What differences did you notice with the exhaust work? Sound, smell, power?

I was going to go with the 3.7 but i will do this later. I would need to buy new PCDs to go 3.7.

I dropped the motor because i am doing the following
-Timing belt and water pump and seals
-Tranny shift valve servicing/cleaning
-Porting out the exaust ports on the head
-Intake manifold lower runner porting
-Egr port cleaning
-Power steering pump reseal
-Valve lash
-Alternator rebuild if the parts come off B/O

also doing J pipe and H&R drop and 3.5" intake with velocity stack.

Thanks gmason1 when i saw the wheels localy kind of 4 hours away i jumped on them, had to get spacers and studs tho.

She runs good. I'm suprised how the H&Rs ride on stock shocks for now lol.

Yes sir . It's the same diameter as OEM
But about 5-6lbs lighter . Makes the car feel lighter and rev up quicker.

It is highly recommended to not under-drive (smaller diameter pulley) the RL because of the significant electrical loads and electrical issues. As JDMCRX mentions, simply lightening the pulley makes a difference.

Yes like oo7spy said under drive pulley only belong on cars with very little electronics !

I have underdrive pulley on other vehicles but they are basic vehicles. Under idle the lights dim a bit and windows go up and down slow.

I'm guessing this is the one you bought, correct?

XLR8 Aluminum Pulleys - Excelerate Performance - Japanese and European Performance Specialists!!

Did you purchase directly from them or is there a better/cheaper source?

Unorthodox Racing makes the pulley, so you may try searching for that. Given the number of platforms that it can span, it may be worth searching for similar products on the 3G or 4G TL since they got more aftermarket love.

How hard was putting your crank pulley on? Because mine is not fitting! Did yours slide on easily or did you have to sand your crank snout or pulley some to make it fit? This is what XLR8 was suggesting to me and Heeltoe (where I purchased my pulley from) also.

Man, I envy anyone that can pull engines, etc and do the kind of work you did to your car. Great job.
