JDM KB1 LEGEND in Japan.... build thread.
Well, here goes... I had lived in California and also built numerous Acuras but moved to Japan... This is the latest incarnation.
2007 JDM KB1 with Mugen aero and M1 flares.
Largus Fulltap Harmonics
TSW Stowe 19x9.5 ET20 with 245/35/19s.
Though mine is a clone.. this is the catalog rendition of the 100 limited edition M1 offered as a new dealer option in Japan.
so, here is the image of how I purchased this car...
I decided on a reasonable build budget that was not going to kill me... here are the parts selected for this project.
Functionality was to remain intact. I wanted this to be something that can be driven daily....
So off we go to have the stuff installed...
After some final ride height adjustments, here we are...

Sounds like straight pipe. Tips look stock. Sounds good but I bet it drones like a mofo. Do you have anymore info? I'm planning on adding super 10 mufflers and delete two rear resonators. Kinda like this tl. Acura TL Flowmaster Super 10:

Holy crap! that UA6 is off the hook.... it must drone like a buzz bomb as well.... That KB2 is, well for a lack of a better term.... acceptably loud in my opinion... I like it.. and with the catalizer in place, should be rounder in tone and have less of a bite than his set up...

K&N Typhoon Short Ram Installed.
This is a K&N Typhoon Short Ram designed for a Honda Accord CP3. The modification obviously required was adapting a block off plate for Air Mass sensor, which the KB1 does not use... I also rerouted the throttle body coolant line and rear cylinder bank PCV hose with the one supplied in the kit.... Great sounds as it hits final stage VTEC. Listen to the video and turn the volume up!!!

fulltap explained...
Full tap refers to the ride height being set by the damper length, the bottoms are threaded so the bottom cup can be turned in and out to alter length and ride height... This also allows independent spring preload for the fronts..This as opposed to the non-full tap spring perch method of adjustments as offered by Tein in the Comfort Sports and Street Flex lines.... where you lower the spring seat and set height...

Greddy Touch Display Installed
I am a sucker for information displays and I was hooked when I first saw one of these....
So, I sat around wondering how I was going to be able to get a oil temperature and pressure display in a compound unit and the Touch was the answer... To hell with a half dozen 70mm Defi displays in the dash of a KB1.... ghetto is just that. Ghetto.
This is what the maker claims on this product.
The Intelligent Infometer Touch is the latest from Greddy's line of information display products.
The latest release features the highest quality 3.5" TFT screen from any of the meters, combined with flexible layout, installation and connection.
3.5" 65,546 Color TFT Screen capable of displaying up to 6 signals at once
Completely touch screen, configured by simply touching the screen
Can be installed in 3 different layouts
Connects to ISO14230 connector
Connects to old Nissan CONSULT with additional harness
Connects to the latest CAN connector
Can display from 53 signals, see the Greddy website for more details
15min signal record playback with warning and peak hold
Displays in Metric or SEA options
Displays in English or Japanese
This unit fits well in the slot above the ashtray and is held in place by hook and loop strips.
It looks trick at night as well....
Just to stray on the dark side of overkill, I tossed in this trick rear view mirror that has a built in flash memory of all know speed cameras and speed traps and uses GPS technology to alert as well as to display velocity.

Good stuff.
But you need re-alignment for "RL" emblem. Not on where should it be.

install8ion of Touch....
[QUOTE=Nersh7;15162757]That's sweet! Can you shed some more light on what was involved in the install?
Simple... plug into OBD II port, run hot switched, initialize the unit, DONE!
As for the planned Oil Pressure and Temperature, I will run a interface that is available from Greddy and 2 sensors with a oil filter plate with twin NTP fittings..
The adapter plate should look like this....
Also, the unit acts as a Fault Code Scanner and Reset Tool....

That trunk spoiler is awful. It totally killed the smooth lines of the RL rear end.

Largus Coilover
I've enjoy watching the progress of RL build come together. As you know aftermarket parts for the RL is hard to come by and even harder in the USA. I've been trying to get my hands on the Largus coilover and only found a few in Japan - Largus.retail.jp doesn't ship to the USA and Nengun.com with has good prices until you put in shipping! Plus I've sent emails and haven't got a response yet😞! Can you help suggest a site that does ship to the USA and has reasonable prices! Thanks in advance. I know a lot of others RL enthusiast will enjoy this information!
