why would he need the cup kit?

 

Cup kit works in addition to the coils, it adds a cylinder or 'cup' if you will on top of the coils to raise the car 1-2 inches for driveways, etc. Its like having air adjustability but you retain the performance of coilovers when not raised up. Best of both worlds and cheaper than an airbag setup. Plus it will allow him to go lower and get rid of that wheel gap he has right now.
