A Classic or Collector item maybe?

Hey Guys, I have an original, first day of sale, 2005 Blue Opulent Pearl RL. It was the 500 rd unit manufactured. I'm considering selling it to buy a new 3rd generation RL but am wondering if I should keep it with hopes that it may, at some point in time become a "classic" of sorts - Your thoughts and recommendations?

It will lose value the day the 2013 goes on sale, just like every other 2nd gen RL. Trade it in or sell it.

Its hard to tell, but with cars like the Viper ACR and the Corvette ZR1 its tough to think that a car like the RL will have any collectability.

I agree.

Collectors dont go searching for waterfalls.

on the other hand, if its a clean well preserved car, some one would scoop it!
it's like seeing a well preserved Legend.

Clean Legends actually go for well over KBB value, especially the coupes. But the Legend is an iconic car, the RL is not.

so, we both agree that the RL will not be a collectors item.
if kept clean, it would be an awesome sight to see 15-20 years down the road.

What kind of miles?

I also agree that the RL will never make classic status. They aren't popular to own now. Why would that get any better?

Everyone knew what a Legend was. No one knows what an RL is.

A clean RL would only be appreciated by previous RL owner, it will never be a collectable.

it is not going to be a collectors item.... no way.

if you went to trade it in, i doubt you'd get an extra dime because it's the 500th 05. it's an Acura RL... not a Ferrari. no one collects old Acura RLs...
