Got this two weeks ago and scrutinizing the hell out of it.
It drives great. Has 160k kms on it. I think all 09 models came with all options including cmbs but i'm not sure. This one seems loaded.
Do these cars ever rust?
Comments welcome.

Anything indeed. My mechanic said it seems done, and since i got it in Feb, to just wait and do it next November. He correct?
Its dropping a whole lot of snow, i went out to the dep, and it drives well on the snow. Definitely not a Prelude

I would do rust proofing earlier. I would shoot for a warmer month as rust proofing SMELLS. I would plan for a couple of days where you can smell the rustproofing in the car.
When I was still in Montreal, I used Metropolitan rust proofing in West Island at the corner of Blvd. Des Sources and Blvd. Gouin. Last time I was there, they were still open. My Camry went there yearly and I think it stood the test of time pretty well!

Indeed! What a coincidence! There was another member here with a KB1 that was from Montreal as well. He seems to have vanished though.

Metropolitain is still there, it'll be a good option it's close to me.
Planning a move to the US of A this year. fingers crossed. And it looks like the RL will move with us. It's value is higher there too

Sweet! Just beware, when I was importing our family cars across the border, they did tax cars assembled abroad an extra tax on import. I was considering buying a KB1 from Montreal when I was on the market and when I inquired at Sarnia/Port Huron, this was still a thing that was happening. Just a head up!

All models after 2007 had three trims, base, tech I, and tech II a.k.a. CMBS and Advance for MMCs.

Looks good. Looks clean. Not sure what my feedback will tell you over others who have commented.
~100k miles and 6-7 years old... I would guess it's worth $18-20k USD. I'm not KBB though.
Has the timing belt been done?

I'm assuming Gabriel provided you with some kind of service records for the car?

The serpentine belt is visible when you pop the hood open, on the left side of the engine bay. The timing belt is hidden below a cover. If the serpentine belt breaks it's no big deal as far as engine damage is concerned. Timing belt failure is concerning as the engine is an interference engine.

Stealerships no longer provide history. I suppose it makes the client come back with problems or requests to avoid them. But given it has 160k and i won't fix it there, I'll try. I got them to give me dates the differential oil was changed, and the acc sensor not long ago. I gonna try for that belt.

And I went ahead and bought the car thinking Honda no longer made interference engines...

Give it a try. I know my local dealership, which the car I bought had been serviced at, in Detroit was very cooperative in handing over my vehicle's history even though I wasn't purchasing it thru them.
Shout out to Jeffrey Acura in case anyone is reading and needs a recommendation for an Acura dealer in Detroit!

I can't even think of a Honda engine in semi-recent/recent history that isn't interference to be honest.

I hope that belt isn't like the Audi's and it relatively easy to check on if it wearing out or not.

I got no clue why I suddenly last week thought 'My car has 160k km on it'.
Actually it's 139k km. Sorry. It's been a rocky week.

And if the left lane hoggers don't like how you overtook them so tightly to make a point, and they finger you, you just lift up the back shade and ignore them

I admit the RL is no slouch. However I was once behind a GT-R at a point in the highway that goes from 2 lanes to 3 and traffic opens up. I was as ready as could be to try and tail him, but he went from 40 feet ahead of me to 400 feet in about 2 seconds.

I noticed recently when im running slowly, and suddenly floor the gas pedal, it kinda chokes.. as if when the rpm reaches its maximum and starts cutting off waiting for you to shift; it kinda starts stuttering, then locks up, and vroom, picks up.
Is this a malfunction or normal?

Changing rear right door next week, then its getting its ass parked until the end of the fall most likely for the time being. But im thinking restoring the rims next.
i think u did the comparison up there previously.
im thinking maybe plugs.
Dunno about air filter but its on the list when it goes in for belt and everything else; which looks like next year given its gonna be parked.
Probably not normal, but probably not a major issue either. How's the air filter look?

What's wrong with the door? From your accident?
Yes, I mentioned the GT-R doing a serious pull on me. Your response led me to believe you are not familiar with the GT-R to which if true, I suggest you go drink some of the Cool Aid. You Tube has plenty in stock.

Yea the accident.

I'm surprised they would be replacing the door. My shop always fixed the existing panels/doors, even with extensive damage.

Can't say for sure, but for some reason I don't believe they use putty. Maybe I'm wrong. If they do, there was absolutely no way to tell.
If they change your door, you lose the VIN sticker on it and anyone after would be able to know it was in an accident.

Wiki: the engine may seem to be the same unit as shared with the Acura MDX, it is actually a variant that introduces, for the first time ever on an SOHC Honda V6, an implementation of the Honda VTEC variable valve train technology on both intake and exhaust for improved horsepower and torque.

No, I don't think you can transfer a VIN. Pretty sure that would be fraud. If you could do that, what would stop you from transferring it on an engine or dash?
Yes, a thorough CarFax will show that an accident happened, but an original VIN sticker tells me the damage was not that significant (assuming the shop fixes it well enough).
