Dont normally come over here to the RL section but damn your RL is nice. Especially in the video's, the car just looks beautiful. I really like the power plenum grille on the RL and your intake sounds good.

no 50w low beams today, here's a DYI on reverse HIDs instead.

1. Purchase an H11 (replaces 7440) 35w bulb and ballast
2. Take out stock bulbs.
3. Splice stock wiring on the car as well as the power side of the ballast.
4. Drop the bulbs in, use clear silicone to get a firm grip on the socket.
5. Drop ballasts in and fill in with whatever soft crap lying around to make sure it doesn't rattle
6. Turn them on and giggle like a girl
7. Record 2 videos
8. Say good bye to your friend and attempt to leave the driveway
9. Have your car die, lose backup light, backup camera, turn signals, speedometer, and the ability to shift from park
10. Run around like a chicken without a head as the friend needs to drive his mom somewhere and you're stuck in his driveway
11. Learn the fuse manual, figure out that it's easier to use the key to unlock the shifter and get the car outa the driveway.
12. Go home, spend another 40 minutes pulling out fuses until you figure out what the hell blew ( it was #21 for me, aka meter)
13. Replace 10A fuse with 20A, everything is back online and now you got a nice "check emissions" bulb that looks very similar to check engine
14. Ignore that, drive around for a day and it goes away.
15. You are now done screwing up your car, wait to see what else can go wrong.

dah-ham.

while I like the HID reverese lights I imagine it must be a killer for someone actually behind you at night.

You sit in a car behind it yet to see how bright it is?

well, the light housing is very small so it's not straight in your face.

Also, you're not backing up all day.

And after staring at them for 10 seconds you will keep the image in your eyes for at least 2 more minutes

it's not bad but not exactly what I was going for.

I wanted to get more light to see next to the tire so when I backup I don't scratch it. The light is behind it and sometimes it sets off my laser jammer rear sensor (probably via reflection off another object)

all in all, more light when backing up can't hurt, people can't say they didn't see you.

Well, my low beams are 8k so they just might look that blue. My LEDs are 6k so they may have a tint to them.

My reverse are 5k so I hope those didn't seem too blue...

Using P&S so no color guarantees

19's narrow the choice of tires and the price sky rockets, out of the question.

20's are out of my price range and comfort zone.

so did you keep the intake or did you get rid of it?

did you notice ANY gain in power by putting it on? or does it really only change the way it sounds?

still got the short ram intake. I installed it at the same time as UR pulley. I have not noticed any power gains from either one of those mods, I could be wrong as feeling 20hp wouldn't be so easy in a machine producing 300.

The intake is good for sound, which helps as I used to hit 5,000 rpm without noticing.

Also, my gas mileage improved as I am better able to tell if I'm revving too high and thus allows me not to.

I would say the intake is definitely worth it.

It's a very quiet car under 3,000rpm and at 5,000rpm you can make a Subaru WRX or an S550 back off

if you can....245/40-19 tires are very comfortable and are in the norm as far as 19" tire prices. I ran this size for a couple of days on my 1st gen RL, but decided I wanted a 245/35.

I know ur trying to work on a budget though

Guys, you didn't see them in person, I did, the 32mm offset is an extreme but awesome fit. Not rubbing on the fender, but is touching some sound deadening material in the rear wheel well, above the fenders. Might have to do something about that later.

As for some pics, man, the stance is just a thing of beauty.

Just a couple of teasers till the real shoot. Leo got a SICK camera!

Pics coming in a few minutes.

I think that looks great!

Personally I would have gone with 19's, but with price and comfort at stake, I understand your reasoning.
