XM: Why does my XM display weather/traffic for Boston when I'm in NYC?

There are a number of weather channels. Boston is 210 (the first one in the weather 'group'). NY is 211. The weather channels go all the way up to 230. Check your XM channel lineup or go to xmradio.com to see the entire lineup.
