Where is the XM button on a 2005 ACura RL?

If you have a Hawaii/Alaska version 05 RL then I don't believe it will have XM.

Yes. With a few more posts you will be able to PM. I advise PM'ing 2007AcuraRL. He has a 2005 and swapped out key navi and DVD components to be able to do this.
Your Canadian 2005 RL is the equivalent of a 2005-2008 Hawaii/Alaska model in that there's no XM available in those places either.

The satellite footprint from a geostationary bird is only so big. XM was designed for the US market, defined as the lower 48, so bad luck. But you get heated and cooled seats and headlight washers among some other features in return.

If you are in southern Canada (ie, Toronto, Montreal, etc), you are most likely still within the beam coverage area for adequate service (ie, the transmit power is strong enough that your XM radio can receive it), even though the satellite antenna suite was not designed specifically for this coverage. You would need a beam laydown chart to be sure, but since XM is available in your area via other means, you are probably okay.

You mean XM traffic right?
Canadian models do not work with XM traffic, but they all do have XM radio.
There's a module missing on Canadian RLs to get traffic. But, IIRC, the RLX's XM does have traffic.

I bought a 2005 RL as well...NO XM!!! Not even a button. Turns out - that Hawaii and Alaska versions DO NOT have the button, because there is no XM service in either place. BUT - i did buy a XM radio version from ebay and it fits fine without any issues. I did that so my GROM will show my audio on the screen instead of just saying "EXTENSION".
