USA Spec BT45-Acu question

So I bought BT45-Acu for my 06 RL and here is the question, if I do not plug the microphone into the unit will the unit picking up phone call? I ask this question because currently the HFP handling all incoming/outgoing phone call and I do not want both unit to pick up the phone call at once. Another question is do I have 3 XM mode or just one since XM1 is reserve for BT45 use, thank you for the input.

My understanding is there is a way to set the DIP switches to allow the car's HFL to operate for phone calls and yet still get streaming audio.

My understanding is you can set it up so hfl still takes the calls. Unfortunately you'll officially loose an XM, either XM1 or XM2.

I have the same unit installed on my car without the micro phone originally, but I found that i needed the microphone to use the voice commands on my iphone (SIRI). Its really up to you if you want to use it or not.

Dos it mean you loose XM all together, or you just loose one of the them (XM1 or XM2)?

You keep XM, you just lose XM1 (no loss there) or XM2.

With BT45-Acu it took XM1 function and use it for streaming, once you unplug the unit from XM module you will get your XM 1 back. The HFL and BT45 pick up phone call at the same time, just make sure you answer with the HFL for better outgoing call experience. I also plug the mic in for back up just in case the HFL is down.

Got the unit today, and installed it. At first it seemed to work all good, but then I noticed quite a difference in how louder was the driver side from the passenger side. Only when I streamed via bluetooth that was the case. After testing all, I decided to return that unit and selected another seller from amazon.co and putchased it.

All worked great as you guys described, just had to exchange it (well return one, and buy another one)... will post update after I instlal the second unit once it comes in.
