Anybody get data exchange with AcuraLink working on a Treo 650 with the latest ROM, etc?

asked about this today at the dealership as mine also does not work and was told it does not work on any of the RL. even the new ones (I have 2005 almost 2 years old)

 

I don't know about the Sprint Treo, but the data exchange *does* work with some phones -- I got it to work when I (briefly) had a Sprint Samsung A900 (although it was about the ONLY thing that worked with that phone, couldn't answer or place calls!) and it works now with my T-Mobile Nokia 6102.

You have to be subscribed to a data plan that lets you use the phone as a bluetooth modem... and then you have to have a compatible phone... and then you have to have it set up right. But that's it... and once it DOES work, it's fairly inconsequential, in that all it does is report trouble codes to Acura.

 

I have a Treo 700p, so i asked around too. I used to have a Moto V710 that did work. The Treo 700p does not work. The difference comes down to the inability of the Treos to have DUN (Dial Up Networking) and Bluetooth working simultaneously. You need that capability for AcuraLink to work. The Motorolla could handle both at the same time, so it worked with that phone.

In other words -- Treo's can't do it.
