On-star: Really worth it?
#2
Since we just had our first child, I think it's well worth the piece of mind. But if this were my car and I did not have to worry about my wife or kid, I'd probably let it lapse and try to custom fit my Valentine1 in that space.

I haven't used it once in over three months and can't imagine I can justify renewing it.
Since we have navigation, I'll never use it for directions. Acura TLC gives you concierge service if you ever need it for as long as you're warranty is in service. I have a 7 yr/100K mile warranty so I'm covered there, although I never used in in my old TL and I can't imagine I'll use it again.
The Nav allows you to find nearest (specific) restaurants (with ZAGAT ratings) so I'll never use it for that.
You can't accidently lock your keys in your car, so you'll never use it for that.
The system uses cell phone technology so it probably won't work if your cell phone can't find a signal.
So the only thing I can think of is airbag notification and tracking in the event the car is stolen.
In the event of an accident (God forbid), I don't live in such a rural area that there wouldn't be someone around to make the call.
Maybe I'm wrong, but with the basic package costing what? $150? I can't justify it.
I'm sure you can easily justify it, just like we can all justify the value of a navigation system, but I just don't see it yet.
