RL MP3 player

Has anyone made an MP3 CD and got it to work on the RL? If you did, what application did you use to make it?

I normally use nero and never had any problems playing CD-R on the RL.

i found that the AUX adapter works better! just plug your phone or mp3 player in and your set. I use the crazy ZUNE 120gb.

depends on your song qualities. just do the math... a single cd can hold 650-700megs, a single song can range from 1meg-6meg depending on quality/length.

Read the manual that comes with the car and it will tell you that MP3 cds are ok. infact, its in giant writing next to your cd slot... that might give you a clue that mp3s are cool.

You can even make them easily with Windows Media Player or if they're already MP3's, just drag and drop onto your CD folder and burn them that way.

If they quality is 128 kbps, I don't see any problem getting 150 songs on the CD unless they're really long songs.

I prefer 192 kbps or higher myself, the quality difference is quite noticeable.

I have an Infiniti that for whatever reason claims it plays MP3 cd's (as indicted on the player) but it never loads, so I was more or less hoping to hear that the RL doesnt have a problem with them. I also read that there is an aux port.

Correction, the 05 does not have the aux port. I read that the 07-08 has the aux port and that the 09 has full integration.

I just went through this a month ago, after I got my RL. I used InfraRecorder (free, portablesapps.com). I definitely have more than 120 per CD on each, but it was trial and error at first. What I did was create a folder for each artist (actually they were already in folders) and added each to the CD, then burned it. I got tripped up early on because the folders also had album artwork JPG's in them, after some troubleshooting I found the RL doesn't seem to like anything on the disc except folders and MP3's - no other files of any kind.

Also, the RL only see's the first folder name when it displays on the screen at the top-level. If you browse in to the folders you'll see all the folders in all there. That's a bit odd I think.
