That's not what he's asking. This question has been asked a few times but there hasn't been an answer.

There are some promotional pictures out there that show a name instead of the number displayed on the MID.

The question is, is it possible to display the name or was it just an embellishment in the materials.

None of the phones do. The problem is that your contact list is not loaded from the phone, but is based on the information in the car.

exactly. Unless the phonebook is uploaded to the car from the phone (like my wife's future Audi Q7), there is no way that the car would display any caller ID. I wonder why Acura had this on their marketing material. Perhaps when the photo was taken, they were able to upload the phone book?

However, sometimes the MID would display the incoming call number, and sometimes it doesn't display anything when someone is calling. What's going on?

If I put an address into the car and I get a call from that number...with the name pop up (I just got the car last week....love it)?

so you are saying that you get a caller ID on the MID if the caller's name and number is under your personal address?

You need to add the name to the address book for name to display.

The number always, always get displayed on my dash in my 05 RL with Razr V3 phone that I use.

It looks like your phone might be the issue.
