North up / Heading up default
OK, hopefully this isn't too stupid: Recently my RL has a default setting for the Nav with NORTH UP (I HATE North Up setting!!!)
This is weird because back when I bought the car I sort of remember setting this as a preference. I don't know, but anyway, for the past 10 months it has always stayed in the Heading Up position (which is natural for my brain somehow).
Now every time I boot up the car it goes to North Up setting and I have to toggle back to Heading Up.
So how do I get it back the way it was?

Sounds like your keyfob has become unlinked. Does the MID show Welcome Driver1/2 when you start the vehicle? If it just shows Welcome, then it is unlinked and the Navi will not remember its settings.

I have to agree with mviles, keyfob is unlined. Just relink and set your pref., the setting will be remembred in the smart card in the car. You can also go to diag menu, hit at the same time map, menu, cancel and hold it for 5 sec. In there you will be able to tell if your keyfob is lined under smart card sub menu. If it is set to gest, than this is your problem.
