New Apple Ipod/Phone/Internet Device

Think it will be a plug and play fit with the RL's audio and phone system?
Cingular service only is a possible downer. That makes it GSM, right? Which would be possible sim card/world-wide capable, maybe?
My Sprint contract runs out this month. Maybe it is time to be a Jobs guinea pig again (have been an Apple earlier adopter for more than 20 years - remember the Newton?).
