NavTraffic Renewal
There have been a variety of posts this way and that about XM NavTraffic. I'd like to see it crystallized, and I think that nothing gets to the point like money.
Do you see enough value in it to pay for it out of your own pocket (after the free year is done)?

I wonder where we should provide this type of feedback about their navtraffic? Acura of course OEMs the solution from someone else. In the case of navtraffic it's a convoluted combination of suppliers. Alpine for the head unit, XM for the transmitter/receiver and Navteq for the data. Danger lies here to all who dare enter

I would definitely not pay until its accurate and useful. I see inaccurate data everyday.
Can you imagine being stuck in traffic when flow shows blue and knowing that you are paying. Or worse, that you changed to a longer route because of red indicators that were not true.

I wouldn't. The data is of questionable timeliness and accuracy. The displace is so difficult to read. The data is limited to major highways, not integrated into calculations of routes, and doesn't result in a recommended route.

I agree that the lack of integration with the routing is a huge gap in the functionality. My dad was telling me how he and some friends drove a BWM 5 series in Germany (he lives in Holland) and when the nav system showed a traffic jam ahead it automatically calculated a route around it. I would probably still get a resubscription but it depends how accurate it is in NY. I'll find out next year. I'll have a few months on this subscription to see how well it works.
