Cool navi traffic issues

My navigation traffic worked today...finally~! It kinda sucks that I knew there was traffic ahead and didn't know how to get around it. I was wondering if there was an option on the Rl to find the best route to avoid the traffic jams. thanks.

Sorry, no. It's one of those 'what were they thinking' things.

Try using the "avoid highways" option when calulating a route with the nav system.

Well that would be a good option if all the highways were blocked

I know my 2000 RL had an option to avoid a street. I haven't played around with the 2005 enough yet to know if it has that option, but I would expect it would. That should solve your problem.

The 05 can also avoid streets but I doubt it's a workable solution without stopping to take the time to enter the correct data. I think the best way is to simply guess your way around the obstacle and have the route recalculated automatically to lead you back to the freeway.

Do you get nav traffic data for back roads?

No, only major express ways, and only segments near major metro areas.

No. I meant that the proposed solution (don't route over freeways) is not very useful. The only time I'd want to do that is (obviously) if I didn't want to use freeways at all. The intent is to bypass the blockage and get back on the freeway. There's no way to make the system plan that type of route right now.
