Anyone heard anything new on the status of the updated Nav System DVD?

Website from Alpine still indicates: "v4.62 DVD currently available to dealers for 2008 vehicles only."

Apparently taking an exceptionally long time to work out the "bugs" or they are not giving it much priority!

 

It's supposed to be ready in mid-late January.

 

I got a promotional email today from Acura. One of the links in the email said there was a sale on the 4.62 navi disk if you ordered by 2/28. Clicked on link which led to another link, but still gives message that the update is only being offered to Dealers. They need to get their stuff togther!

 

Thanks the the update getakey. I want to buy the updated disk for my 05 and getting a discount on the substantial price would be nice.

 

I agree. The price I saw was $185., but as I said, the site would not let me order it.

 

It's rather refreshing that they've stopped selling a broken product. Now it 'just' has to get fixed :-) I'll gladly beta test it for them if they send me the disk for free.

 

noc - I'm with you there. Do you know if $185 the regular price?

 

I seem to recall the price was more like $199 but whatever it was, the discount isn't stellar if the new price is $185. Not one of those amigawdgottagetitnow deals. I'd say $150 would be a sale.

 

The normal price for the DVDs is $185. There was a sale on the3 Honda/Acura site recently $149 but I think it lasted only thru Dec 31, 07.

Even Microsoft didn't charge for SP2! Alpine should upgrade for $25 max to existing users.

 

If you check the order site, it looks like only the older orange DVDs are on sale.

BUT still nothing new on the status of the v4.62 DVD for the 2005 RL which had all the problems (and was pulled for sale) last Fall!? Last info - was going to be ready in mid-late January!

 

I just got off the phone with Alpine's Acura Navi DVD fulfillment center. I called the number at the bottom of the page where you would normally be able to order the DVD online. The lady on the phone told me that for my 2006 RL, the DVD version I need is 4.62 and that it will not be available until APRIL. Yes...that's right...APRIL!!

If any of you need to confirm that, call (888) 549-3798 to hear the news yourself.

I hope they work out their bugs soon.
