Nav conversion to DVD

I am a happy new owner of a 05 RL. Love the car already. I recently installed the usa specs ipod converted and it works great. Cost about 220 installed. The guy at the store talked to me about the nav conversion. He estimated it would cost about 1,100 bucks. Way to much for my pocket. I have read a lot of threads on the process, but the more I read the more confused I get. What product is the best value for quality and what exactly do I need to get? How much realistically should I expect to pay? Anyone in the Atlanta area have suggestions on where to get it down? I don't think I need a audio fm modulator because the usa spec already has an additional audio line available. Is that right? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A discussion has started over in the 3G TL forum: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1579638

Since this is more RL specific and a thread has been created here, I am closing the one in 3G TL and leave it up to the RL gurus to help out.

Has anyone here done the conversion on the RL? There is a group buy going on from one of our vendors, check it out here:
