iPod Music Link
I have not loaded the software yet due to othe owners discontent with it. I am considering just uisng iPod without the software loaded. Would I be able to just attach to the connector cord and use through the the stock head unit. and control from the click wheel on the iPod? I guess my real question is "Is the software necessary?"

miner, what's the latest? Have you loaded the software yet? Curious to know because I am considering buying the iPod Music Link but would like to know how it works and sounds. Also, what is displayed on the Navi screen when in iPod mode? My local dealer doesn't have an RL with it installed as a demo.

There is NO, repeat, NO information from the iPod displayed in the Navi screen.

dont load that stupid software. it will mess you up man. Just make playlists on your ipod then select the one you want and hit play on the ipod, then connect the ipod. you can fastforward songs from car controls. also, sometimes you will be able to gain access to the controls on the ipod, once you disconnect it from the link, then access will be locked again.deep was the best sounding with my rl.
