Installing non-OEM rear view camera on 2006 RL ...what do i need?

I got a free (no-brand name) rear view camera from my brother, as a present. It can easily be mounted on my 2006 RL but i need to know, what else do i need to buy in order to integrate the camera with my stock Navi screen/stereo without voiding my warranty and cutting too many wires.

The camera comes with a video cable and mounting hardware. What else should i get to plug it to my '06 RL? I know the 06 RL is "pre-wired" for rear view camera but is the camera all i need or i need to purchase some sort of an adapter to make a non-oem camera work with existing wiring?

For those who have done it with non-oem cameras, please be specific and let me know what i need to get/do to make this work well.

Thank you in advance!

1. You need a nav interface tool like NAVTOOL or NAVTOGO. I got mine from this site http://www.tvandnav.com/acurarlnavig...interface.aspx.
tell them that you are from ACURAZINE and get the group buy price of $225 shipped.

Get the OEM camera installation manual from http://acura.bernardiparts.com/Acura...1-6H2-360.aspx

To open the trunk hinge get a good hex socket tool ( I think the number is 23 or 24 good idea to check out a autozone)
other wise you will strip the screws.
I have recently installed the camera on my car and ask for any help in installing. I can help you.

Thanks for the info and for the offer for help, mark. What type of camera did you put on your car? Brand? Price?

I am assuming you did not go with the OEM camera since you had to get a nav interface tool. Correct? Or even with the OEM camera setup (sold for $350-400 on Ebay) you still need a nav interface tool?

Thanks!

I did not like the OEM camera becaus of the picture quality and also no guard line function. I installed navtool as an interface. It is really easy to install one and so far so good. I got it for $215 shipped from the seller.
I purchased the camera from eBAY. This is the camera I have purchased http://cgi.ebay.com/Car-Rear-View-Wa...item3ef9ecb3c9
The build quality is really good it cost me $80. It is one solid piece of metal nicely sealed. Although I had a problem with the camera it stopped working after a week I sorted it out and got a new one. The seller was really prompt and even sent me a new one and asked me ship the defective back after getting the new one. I will post some pics in the week end.
If you buy the OEM camera you do not need a navtool and you can directly connect the camera to the nav unit.
