Got my $77 renewal for the year. I asked for two years but he said no can do. I did wait till the subscription went dead (two days after the printed day), then called and said I remember getting an offer for $77, and that I was interested. He renewed it without further question. Also got Nav Traffic but would not negotiate a price on that, he said had to be $3.99/ year.
Thanks Acurazine.

I renewed today for $77. awesome
I bought my son XM for his B/day several months ago with my business account and forgot about it. When I told her I was a FORMER customer she said " I see you have a second vehicle on this account" I thought the deal was over.
It made no diff to her that I had an active account on another vehicle. She continued processing me as a returning customer.
I opted out of the Nav program as I only put 10,000 miles on the RL in this first year. I rarely drive in congested areas

I got it 2 days ago. My trial subscription doesn't run out until the end of October, but they signed me up. I just mentioned the $77 price and had no problems.

The free trial on my 2007 RL expired about 2 months ago. During the free trial, I received several direct mail pieces imploring me to buy the year subscription or else be faced with the reactivation fee. After the trial expired, I started getting phone calls, at home, then on my cell to purchase 12 months for the price of 11. Knowing that a $77 offer existed (thanks, Acurazine!) I asked the rep if this was the very best deal (12 for price of 11) that he was authorized to give, he said it was. Two weeks later, I get a postcard in the mail with the $77 offer. The savings code is not the Zwinback one, it's an 8 digit alphanumeric code. Maybe XM is getting a little more sophisticated with their winback offers? Anyhoo, I'm going to renew when I get back in town next week, although I only drive about 800 miles per month, I think it's a great service at a very fair price. Just thought I'd share my experience, safe driving, everyone!

still works
My XM expires tomorrow, Oct 24. I guess this also marks my 1 year of owning this sweet car.....I got 22K on the odometer
Anyway, back to XM. I called this morning and asked about the $77/$3.99 deal. Lady rep put me on hold for a minute or so. She came back and said ok.
Still works, guys!

Good to go for another year!
I Just renewed by XM & Nav Traffic for $77 [audio] plus $48 for traffic for the second year in a row. : :
The script still works fine.
I wonder what will happen to this if they end up acquiring Sirius. I don't have to worry for at least another year.

When she called to complain that they charged her more than she authorized, the rep told her that the ZWINBACK deal ended in July and this was the best they could do. She cancelled the service after he refused to transfer her to a supervisor. Now she's waiting for her postcard to get the $77 deal.
Are you sure they didn't include NavTraffic, because with both it is about $124. Just curious, because my expiration date is in a couple of weeks.

This is funny, I was just thinking about this thread yesterday and how my XM had not turned off, even though I've had the car a few weeks over a year. Well this morning it was working and this afternoon it had stopped, go figure. I was thinking about purchasing another year of service, this thread is a great tool to so.

Still Works!
My XM Nav stopped working on Tuesday so I called XMRadio. Right after I purchased my RL, I had a lot of problems getting the XM Nav to work so the dealer was supposed to “reset” my Nav trial. To make a short story long, they didn’t and I thought my Nav was on the fritz again. When I called XM at 6am, of course they weren’t open yet, so I used the automated signal reset. Didn’t work.
I called back that evening and they informed me that my trial had expired AND they converted my Radio TRIAL to a MONTHLY subscription but they had stopped my Nav! I explained all of the issues that I had getting the Nav to work, so they restarted my 3 month trial for the Nav. Then I told her that I wanted to renew at their lowest rate and she gave me a $150+ “deal”. I told her that we had to do a LOT better than that so she volunteered the $77 annual for the radio. Because I felt like I made progress on that issue, I asked about the yearly rate on Nav…they gave me that for $48. Win/Win!!
I love this forum!
EDIT: Before we hung up, she told me that I can NOT use the same rate when I renew next year. I'm hope shes not working there this time next year!

I do hope this works, as I am frustrated beyond belief with XM (just wait till the merger goes through and they become a monopoly!).
I had done a short-term discounted renewal on my 2004 TL in November 2006, then 3 weeks later traded up to a 2006 RL. When I activated the new RL with its included 12 months, the XM rep told me she would add the remaining 2+ months of service onto the RL account. Last week I got a letter saying my service would stop in November. Called XM, spoke with 2 tiers of customer service for an hour, they said the letter was a mistake, service expires in December. (NO!! Should be March.) All they would do was credit me $11. I wanted the 2+ months.
So I withdrew my authorization to renew, will let it expire and complain to the FCC. AAARGH!
XM is not a well-run company. Their marginal cost for each existing subscriber approaches zero. So ANY subscription revenue they can get is pure profit, except when they allow reps to be so stubborn that they waste an expensive hour pissing off a customer on the phone. All the rep had to do was say. "Okay, we will keep our original promise and extend you for 3 months as a courtesy." Everybody would have been happy, their revenue stream would have continued, and I would not be dissing them on the Internet...

Complaining to the FCC will do nothing for you, they have no control over sat radio, thats the beauty of it, people can say what they want. With that said XM is pretty PG compared to Sirius, but then again Sirius is a better product. I have both

At first they couldn't find my radio serial number, but after explaining that Honda/Acura would have paid, and that it was a factory installed radio, they processed for the $77 deal.
I asked about adding NavTraffic, which the agent did add to the account, but then the phone disconnected. I called back and found that the first agent added it at $9.99 per month. The second agent said that was the standalone price, and that it should have been only $3.99 per month additional as part of the XM radio/NavTraffic package.
So, $124.88 for a whole year for both!

I called up the number given 1-800-682-4114 and got the same deal for 124.88 for whole year. He did not even ask for the promotional Code.. I said I have a promotional code and he simply accepted that. He told he will give me 77$ deal for XM Radio and 43$ for Live Traffic. I said go ahead...Cool Deal............My subscription expires on Dec1 2007 so the new one would come in place from then onwards.......
Thanks for the Info Guys.......

In November XM automatically charged my my account @ $142 just for the radio set up. When I called customer service today it took about 10 minutes to convert and credit my account to the $77 a year plus traffic. No issues still working like a charm!

Still works although she said that the next renewal would be at full price. I did not even have a previous subscription. Recently bought an 06 that had an expired 12 mo. trial subscription. Go figure.

Renewal Card in Mail for $77
After seeing various renewal offers being mailed to me, I finally received one with the $77 for 112 months. I guess it may just be a standard offer now, if you wait long enough. (it states the reactivation fee of $14.95 is also waived). Guess I'll proceed with this offer, unless anyone is aware of any hidden tricks.

I'm getting the worst kind of runaround on my renewal effort (plus they are billing me for time beyond when they said they'd cancel).

XM Renewal for $77
When I renewed, I simply told them I wanted to renew at the $77, 12 month subscription and it was processed. Perhaps the discount was linked to my radio id code as I did not have to present any other promo codes. Took less than 5 minutes, no questions other than confirming address and phone number. I am unable to figure out how to paste the image here, but it was the standard black background postcard with "Come Back to XM, and we'll waive the $14.99 reactivation fee. Offer Ends Soon! 12 months of XM Radio for ONLY $77, Call 866-409-1096"

For what its worth, I got a follow-up call from a survey outfit looking into XM, and I was brutally honest. I called to try to renew and ended up cancelling. It took four tries. 3 of those tries had me on hold forever, and one of those was a complete cutoff.
I'm guessing I'll still get a bill for the portion of the year that they automatically renewed my subscription. I'll call them back at that time.
If you've scanned it, please e-mail to me (send a PM).

I renewed yesterday, no problem. I merely said I wanted to renew my subscription at the $77.00 rate....and done!

Go Big Blue!
Me too. when I bought my RL in April I read about this promotion on this site. I called XM up (even before my 3 month trial was over) and just said "hey, I hear you give out $77 first year promotions, can I have that?" The gal said yes. It was really easy and I didn't even have to be sneaky about it. That was refreshing.
#155
XM called me to renew my 3m trial at the $12.95 rate. I told them I had a coupon code for the $77 deal and if they did not give me that price I would not be renewing. They gave it to me witout too much arguement. The phone rep also indicated that it would be my 'annual rate' as well. We'll see if thats the case. They also gave me the NavTraffic for $46 for the year.

$77 renewal
It still works but…
Make sure you check your account after you renew. I called the 1-800-682-4114 number last month to renew for the $77. rate, and was told “no problem”. I gave them my credit card number, and that was it. The next day I received an e-mail stating there was a problem with my credit card number, and I could click on the link to update my information. Being very suspicious about this, I called the number that I had called the day before to renew, told the woman that I just renewed for one year at the special $77. rate, and wanted to check to make sure they had my correct credit card number. She told me that everything was fine—no problems. When I received my credit card statement at the end of the month, I found that they charged me $26.43 for a 3-month subscription! I once again called the same number, and told them what happened, and they then charged me the $50.57 balance of the $77. rate for the one-year renewal. In the end, everything worked out fine, but I could have paid almost $106 (which still isn’t a bad rate) instead of the (great) $77. rate.
