Help New '05 RL Owner & rear heat vent
Just purchased a previously owned 05 RL last night. 2 weeks ago after I was the victem in a head on accident which totaled my honda accord. Luckily I survived with just broken ribs and a bruised lung. The 05 has lots of bells and whistles I need to learn to use. It got very cold (for Charlotte) last night and I noticed the rear heat vents had no air flow coming out of them. The climate control was set on automatic, yet the rear compartment was rather cool. On my wife's TL, the rear vents work with any climate control setting as long as they are open. I read the 05 RL owner's manual but can find nothing about the rear seat heat vent. I'll head back to the dealer for a repair but I'd like to find out how this rear vent works on other RLs:
* Does the rear vent always work if it is in the open position?
* My unit appears to work but only if the heat is in the manual top vents position, is this normal?
Thanks. I'm new to this forum and hope I am posting appropriately.

Thanks, Gohawks. I asked the saleperson if their were heater vents located in the floor. My (recently totaled) accord had those. he said he wasn't aware of them. I'll check the next time in to see if I can detect warming air from the rear floor. I can't wait to further set all of the features up. Perhaps i'll have extra time this weekend. I've only driven the car home from the dealer thus far.

There are vents on the floor under the front seats and the vents in the back come on when you have the climate control set to blow heat out of the upper middle vents. When the car is set to auto it usually blows heat from the vents aimed at the floor. It only uses the middle vents when you have the temp set you a lower number and the car feels it needs to use the middle vents. But you basically only get air from the rear middle vents when you are getting air from the middle front vents.
