I used a program called musicman from here http://www.mireth.com/pub/mpme.html to burn MP3s and they play well in my car. But this is a mac program not a PC one. Hope this helps.

Is the DVD-A a different disc compared to a DVD +R? With that software, can you just burn music onto a DVD+R as a DVD-A?

if u want to burn music in DVD-A disc, you can't put mp3 files.... you can only put 99 songs/disc, and that's similar to .wav files in the CD format in larger disc!

DVD=Digital Versatile Disc
Most DVDs we deal with are DVD-V or DVD Video, which is why most people think that DVD stands for Digital Video Disc

DVD-A refers to DVD-Audio

DVD +R refers to the optical recording format (as opposed to DVD -R, or DVD RAM)

See the DVD Forum for additional detail. The DVD Forum is an international association of hardware manufacturers, software firms, content providers and other users of Digital Versatile Discs.

So could you record DVD-A material onto a DVD +R, the answer would be yes.

I think your question is whether you can convert low quality mp3 material into the high quality 5.1 DVD-A music?

And I think the answer is no...kind of like taking a low res thumbnail photo and trying to make it into a high res photo.

Your question may also be, can you take a gazillion (technical term) mp3's and burn them onto a 4.7 GB DVD +R?

And I do not know the answer, but would be interested in finding out what the answer is.

Ahhhh...thanks for that information. I tried putting MP3's onto a DVD and when I put it in my RL it says invalid disc format.

So maybe I need to change the format of the songs to a .wav?

I don't think the RL will play .wav (even on a CD), only .mp3 and .wma. You need to author a DVD-A. (audio in DVD-A format, in a AUDIO_TS folder. Simple program to do this is DVD-A solo, from ttp://www.cirlinca.com/store.htm
