Does anyone one know if the 2006 RL has the same radio and navi system as the 2005? By this I mean is it exactly the same part number or does the 2006 have a different one.

It would seem that if they are the same they should be able to get the upcoming Ipod interface as well as the back up camera to work with little trouble.

Anyone know?

I don't think any of us know yet. We will have to start calling a few part departments to find out if the part numbers are teh same.

must be different as colors in the nav traffic display have changed
the blue showing good travel has changed to green
which may ba a problem for me as i am a redgreen colourblind person
depends on the shade of green i guess

That was just a software update - the 05' cars can get this update if you buy the $185 dvd.

You would need to disconnect the battery to the car and drain the battery then put in the old DVD. You would never be able to get the updated map information. You would have to leave the original 2005 navi disc in forever.
