Hey new guy here.

I have a 2005 Acura RL

The Cd player seems to be working when ever it wants to, I haven't had the car long, but at this rate, its growing annoying as I want to listen to the awesome bose stereo.

So far I notice that the CD player knows there is a CD in the player, and how many tracks it has as I assume based of off previous information from playing that CD. It will not play the CD, Change CD's or Eject any cd. but will change tracks, just never play.

Is there a simple fix? I thought maybe blowing some air from one of those "air dust remover" things for your computer might fix the problem as maybe a sensor of some sort has well dust on it. The prior owner mostly used the XM if ever the cd player, maybe it just needs to get used to my needs?

I love everything else about this car, cd player is my only issue.

The only issue I had with my CD player was with a MP3 CD and the sudden display of "Data" when trying to play it. I would take the car back to the dealer and have them either remove the suspect CD or replace it. My RL is also a 2005.

 

Yea, I'm taking car in for service tomorrow.

Just odd, It only seems to work when it wants to, They said it might be because of my burned CD's but its doing it on both store bought, and burned. It seems to have memory loss or something. Maybe it’s the laser eye that isn't seeing quite right. It’s like the buttons when in CD mode, no longer work. A pinched wire perhaps..... I'll find out soon enough.
