Blackberry Storm Compatibility

I'm getting my '05 RL tomorrow and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the car from this forum before I drive her home. I have a blackberry storm (9530), and was wondering if anyone has this phone and paired the bluetooth? Any troubles? etc...

I have a Tour paired. It doesn't help you much for things like e-mails, txts, etc.

But it will mute the audio when you get a call.

As far as hands free, I try it but end up screaming at the mics while the other person goes "what?? what??" so I gave up on it. Even tried adjusting mic level from the diag screen in car.

Thanks for the heads up. Since the Tour is newer, I would imagine that my Storm shouldn't have any problems. I speak loudly anyway, so maybe I'll have better luck. I wonder if other phones make you yell as well?

Much depends on the phone model and the carrier configuration.

Best to check here: http://www.acura.com/HandsFreeLink.aspx

I looked up the Storm under Verizon and looks like most AcuraLink capabilities are there with HFL and DataLink for the 05 RL.

It notes only Call Waiting does not function.

I use my storm with my HFL everyday in my non-nav TL. Once in a while, the person on the other side says they can't hear me very good. Other than that, it works great.

I have the Bold (same OS). Acuralink functions don't seem to work too well with Blackberrys. Normal calling works well. No issues from my end with having to shout.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up everyone. I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed that I don't have an excuse to yell at people on the phone with the windows down! (I'm just kidding).

I got my RL last night (after 5 hours at the dealership over a paperwork mistake), and got my Blackberry Storm paired. The sound quality appears to be better than a bluetooth headset which is nice. As mentioned before, none of the data seems to work, but there appears to be some sort of custom configuration screen for the data. If only I could find the right info to put in there....
