address book goes away?

a couple of times i have started up the car and found the address book empty. at the same time the nav display looked kind of weird (there was a gray background on the left while giving me directions) and all of my radio station presets were gone.

both times, i went to bed and woke up to the car working normal again.

anyone else experience this? what did you do to resolve it?

thanks,

huge

Did you use the same "key" each time? Was there someone else in the car with you with the other "key?"

the first time i only had one key on me. the other time we had both keys in the car and i did consider that it might be confused. i hit the "1" button on the driver door to make sure it was using that key/settings but still an empty address book. the "go home" feature worked so i was even more confused at that point. did you (or anyone else) experience a similar problem?

I may be wrong, but I don't think that hitting the '1' button, changes the type of setting we're talking about. I know it changes the seat and mirror settings but I don't know that it will override the initial settings it gets from the first key fob. I've had to get out of the car with both keys and then come backl with just my key (making my wife stay away from the car temporarily so my settings (all of them) can be used.

To be sure, push the unlock button on the key fob when you get in the car. Push lock and then unlock if necessary.

That's an interesting point, there are different address books for Driver 1 & Driver 2. Check to make sure that the remote is not "unlinked". There are instruction on the FOB itself. Pushing the LOCK and UNLOCK at the same time will link/unlink the FOB.

I agree, you need to relink your FOB, you can also go into the secret menu to see if your remote is unlinked. By pressing map, menu, cancel, hold for 5 sec. Then find smart card info in one of the menu (I think it is one of the menu in the middle right) . If it says guest ON then, diriver 1 & 2 OFF, your FOB is unlinked.
