Why don't the power outlets stay on?
I don't understand why Honda doesn't make the power outlets stay on when the iginition is off. This is really aggravating when trying to charge your cell phone. Every Ford, Chevy, and Chrysler that I have owned had the outlets remain on with the ignition off.
Is it just Honda that does this, or all the Japanese cars? I guess their theory is that you may run the battery down, but I have never done that. As least they should make a simple way to allow the owner to have the option of the sockets remaining on.

All Jap cars. My Civic, TSX, and TL did this. My FX35 and our RX300 does it also. I assume its because you will run the battery down like you said.
You can always rewire it to be always on. It isn't that hard to do.
Personally I like it like this, I would always forget to turn things off (although I guess I would get used to it - habitual things)

I agree with cgtsx. If you want them on, rewire them. I know it is a little inconvenient to have to do the work, but it shouldn't take you long. You need to cut the power wire from the cig. ligther and splice it into a power wire which is on constant - or as I would prefer, run a new line from the cig lighter to the fusebox and use a "add a circuit" unit to one of the fuses which is constantly on. I don't know which cig lighter you want to do this (maybe both) - but I don't think it is going to be too hard to take apart the dash to wire that.
