Who is wearing the dunce cap at Acura?

My brother-in-law was ready to pull the trigger on an RL (to lease) until he discovered earlier this week that their $1,399 out-the-door lease has now increased to $2,999 (for May). One would think with sales lacking behind the GS and M and end of the model year nearing an end, Acura would be motivated to get a jump start now by depleting '06 inventory. As I've been told, Acura has a 72 day inventory of RLs (manufacturers prefer 60 days maximum).

Yeah, I don't know whats going on at Acura. I am in the market to buy and have had more than a one dealership refuse a deal for a car slightly above invoice with a .00230 money factor. THat's a decent money factor. Most of the luxury car manufacturers are offering similar rates. Mercedes was at .00230 last month. They are up to .00240 now.

The Camco Acura in Ottawa is nice. Especially since we own other Acura's we get the loyalty interest (1.8) instead of the normal 5 something.

I just received a call from a dealership to let me know that they were ready to deal (meet my price). When I told them I had already purchased, I asked why they were so willing to drop the price and was told that during the month of May they have a $3000 marketing support promotion going. I presume that the great leasing deals are gone until this promotion is over (just speculation, no real knowledge), but that may be why they said no to your lease deal (They are trying to sell rather than lease their overstock). Like I said, just a guess.
