do you guys use synthetic or do you use regular old honda motor oil....?

 

I use synthetic on all my cars, including the RL.

The RL gets 0-20W Castrol Full Synthec.
The TSX gets 5-30w Penzoil Synthec
I have been thinking about moving to Amsoil.

Mobil 1 5-20 from WalMart. $22 for a 5 quart container. Buy my oem filters on line for $5.00. I take both to a Honda/Acura local mechanic who charges $21 for the labor.

 

I only use full synthetic in all of my cars. Mobile 1 in my AMG (9 quarts), and in my GX470. The RL gets whatever synthetic is on sale. All purchased at Walmart-great prices.

 

I only use wix filters and Amsoil 5w20.

 

Mobil 1 full synthetic.

 

Whatever the dealer uses.

I Only use Amsoil 0w20 in all my cars, my 2000 TL gets this and so does my RL, also i use the Amsoil filters too!
my transmission fluid is also Amsoil ATF..... as well as my gear lube and transfer case.. lol
only AMSOIL for my fluids

 

i use 5w 30 mobil 1 extended.

 

I changed my oil yesterday with castrol edge 5w30. I will report if I find anything peculiar. I used to use mobil 1 5w20 in all my cars before.

I'm going to try out the Pennzoil Platinum. Its a full synthetic and is supposed to be just as good as M1 at much less cost.

 

I asked this once before but got no answers: has anybody ever heard of a problem with any oil? Just about every oil on the shelf meets all the specs necessary for this engine and they will all last at least 7500 miles. Changing oil after 3k miles is only for people who have shares in the Exxon corp. If my engine only last 200k miles then I will have sold the car long before that because I will be bored with it and it will have numerous problems because it is old, not because I used Castrol instead of Pennsoil. I agree with "plain old oil in a can"
