Well damn it...
Had someone back into the Acura this morning at the grocery store, trunk is toast and needs to be replaced. I went to two repair shops today, quick set $1,800 to $3k depending on if they have to paint the car to match the trunk. Oh and Acura is proud of their trunk lids.. $850 for the lid luckily nothing else was hit so off to the repair shop she goes.
I think I'll try to take advantage of the bad luck and have some of the chrome bits painted to match the body on the front grille so I can paint it black.

the reason why the trunk lit expensive because it made by aluminium. Be careful not to claim alot because they could potential total your RL.

If your interested in an alternative type repair, you may want to consider checking out: HollanderParts.com, and or car-part.com. A Grade "A" Quality replacement deck lid, matching your RL's paint color code, should be available, for approximately $300.00, plus shipping. There is a POSSIBILITY, of a ( very slight ) variation in the paint. However, you could request a sample piece, removed from the damaged portion of the donor car' body, prior to purchase. If, a check, with your insurance carrier, reflects no change in your premium, resulting from this loss, than it's probably best to let them take care of it.

Bummer...looks like PDR isnt an option after looking closer I see the paint cracked. Good luck. Make sure they transfer that lip spoiler too.
NOTE: I presume shop knows but make sure they are experienced in aluminum repairs they require designated tools to allow for adequate repair and painting of the unit if you dont avail yourself of Franks suggestion.

Not sure if OP cares, but the original trunk lid has the vehicle's original VIN sticker on it somewhere. All hoods, doors, trunks and bumpers do. It's the easiest way to tell if something has been in a sizeable accident where a panel had to be replaced. Personally, that sticker itself is worth a lot, seeing as you can't get another one ever again.

I've been pretty vocal about the lip spoiler, making sure it's removed and placed back on the new lid or a new one ordered and installed. The spoiler doesn't look like it's damaged but I'm concerned that they damaged it while trying to remove it.

You can't. They're intended to fall apart, so no one tampers with them. That way you know whether or not a car has been a serious collision or not.

I found one on ebay for 400 + 100 shipping with the back up camera, same color. Just nervous to drop 500 and have something wrong, not fit right, damaged or needing to be painted to match the paint on a 12 year old car.. that 500 w/o the spoiler. Still think I'm better off dropping my $500 deductible for a new one, blended paint and fixed right. Bonus.. no chrome badgers to remove.

Honestly, that's a super easy fix. I'd try to find the best "paintless dent repair" guy in your area and have him smooth that panel out. Aluminum is so easily bendable that he'll be done in no time. Then have it professionally painted. Or, take a chance on the $125 one, which looks like it would also be a great option. Could be a really fun project. Have you tried removing the interior trunk lid liner and pushing it out yourself? Once you get started you may be really surprised... Just sayin' I repaired the right rear quarter panel on my '05 that was totally crunched in and a total loss, looks perfect again.
Good luck either way you go...

Thanks everyone, the body shop bought a used one and it's in great shape. It's going in for paint Friday morning, hopefully it'll match and they will be done, if it doesn't match then it'll take a couple more days. Part of me wouldn't mind the new paint job but 'eh either way. I just want my baby back lol

Car is back in my driveway, right where she belongs. However, they thought to power wash the car for me, nice gesture but they washed off some of the chrome plating on the rear corner trim and the lower part of the grille. They owned up to it and are replacing both pieces. The guy at the shop stopped and looked at the car, shook his head and said he couldn't believe that this car is 12 years old, and how much he liked the RL.

Trunk looks good. But as you can tell in one of the pictures, I'm wondering if the fit is right, it looks like the curve of the trunk lid sticks out too much, please take a look and if someone can compare it to their car I'd appreciate it. In the pic's where the chrome is gone they are ordering new parts for me, should be in on Monday.
New deck lid w/o badges which is nice because before you could see a slight outline of where they were.
chrome power washed off

Here is the gap I'm talking about, it's on both sides.
