We are being recalled....
I have a 2012 RL and expected this. The seatbelts in the RL proudly wear a "Takata" brand tag at the base of the strap, so I figured we have the Takata air bags too and it was a matter of time before a recall was announced....
There is a stop sale at Acura/Honda dealers now on pre owned 2005-2012 RL's

Some may remember that Takata was the same company that had massive issues with seat belt buckles failing in the 1990's. Takata blamed it on Americans bad eating habits. They claimed the salt in their fast food french fries and their sloppy in car eating habits were causing the metal parts in the buckles to corrode. Chrysler especially had huge recalls as a result in the mid 90's

The message from Acura says it will after February 15th.......

Recall information for these vehicles will not be available in the VIN Lookup tool below until February 15, 2016. Please check this site after February 15th to determine if your vehicle is affected. For all other, ongoing recalls, please use the VIN Lookup tool below.

So out of an abundance of free time, I actually picked up the phone and called them for an estimated timeline and this is what I was told. Letters won't be mailed out until mid-March and the parts won't be available until late summer. So, don't crash until the end of summer I guess
