you can paint them yourself. I have a 2000 base model boxster, which I painted the calipers on - to make them look more like the "S" model which come red OEM.
there are a couple of differenet paint kits out there. I used the G2 kit. It's epoxy based..you get all wheels off, clean the stink out of them, then paint. you've got about an hour until the stuff is dried and hardens... you paint it on while it's hardening after you mix in the activator.
paint goes on with a brush with the G2 system. the results were really good. up close from 6" you can see streaks and "high/low" points = it's not an OEM smooth powder coat finish, but from 6' away it looks amazing. high gloss, wet looking - like OEM.
for the money it's the way to go.
But FWIW, I'd NOT paint calipers on an RL. It looks cool on a Porsche, but the RL is more of a luxury car. I'd rather not have big red calipers.. but that's just me.

Our brakes do not warranty a red color. Simply not that good of brakes. But if you want to proceed, engine paint and clear will work fine with no issues of retaining heat. The brush-on kits also work well though not as glossy as the spray on solution with clear.
I prefer the spray paint method myself. Either way, prep is the most important aspect of the job for a long lasting durable finish. Painted my Porsche brakes red just recently.
I did these a couple of years ago on another car.
