vibration when braking...solved

just wanted to share this with the forum for future reference. 07 RL 140k, new shocks all the way around and steering rack at 105k. when braking at 70mph, 40mph, my steering wheel would shake/vibrate. obviously the fix would be to replace the rotors as i always have in the past. after replacing front rotors and front pads, i still get the vibration, only when braking. so i spend an hour or so jacking up the RL to take a look at the suspension under the front end to look for loose or worn tie rods, bushings, end links, anything. i see nothing worn. i then call a mechanic friend who works on toyotas/hondas and explain to him the deal. he immediately asked if i changed the rear rotors. i said no, you think thats it? he stuck to his gut and experience and said if there are disc brakes all the way around rear rotors could cause a vibration when braking. i was totally skeptic, but rockauto had centric rears for about $40ea, i ordered them, installed them just now and i am still amazed that fixed my issue.
