Timing belt jump by one tooth..questions
Replacing timing belt on j35a6.. crank shaft aligned dead on, front cam dead on cylinder 1. Back cam is exactly one tooth behind. Hydrolic tensioner shows now sign of leak.. someone was messing with the engine before.. loose bolts. Missing bolts. Timing cover ground in some sspots or violently ripped )
Car drives fine.. no check engine. Well sometimes p0420 depending on gas station but that's rear o2 sensor
Were there any "technical updates" or quick fixes by honda on timing? On e36bmw there was such technical update. So depending on your vin you had to align chain one tooth back.(1996-1998 models) To retard timing or forward don't remember. Made things very agravating. Had to get to timing chain twice. But it was check engine aND a week of research.. Anything like this on hondas?

Well I installed everything with proper alignment of marks. Car drives fine. More powerful actually.
Amazing no check engine light with one tooth jump. I would guess occasional p0420 code was due to this belt jump.
