If I walk away from the vehicle, shouldnt the car arm itself after some time? Is there a setting for this hidden somewhere in the manual that I just cant locate?

I wondered the same thing, but you physically have to touch the dimple on the door handle to arm the system. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, since the system can sense when you're near to the vehicle.

Probably not unless you get an aftermarket alarm system. I have seen this done with the same keyless access system (the one found on the LS430).
