Temperature via voice command?

Temperature via voice command?
A little confused about commanding my RL
to adjust to the proper temperature via VOICE.
Hope you can assist.
It's been in the 90s here in Central NJ. I get
in a hot car, and I push the VOICE button and say....
"Temperature 60 degrees"
I would expect the AC would automatically kick in
and perhaps a high fan speed to force cool air throughout
the car.
It doesn't.
Anything I am doing wrong?
Also, it SEEMS that you can't order the temperature
via VOICE to go below 58 degrees. The voice commands
will not recognize, say, 50 degrees.
A little assistance on simple commands to keep my car
cool in the Summer and warm in the Winter would be
appreciated.
Thanks, guys!

I think the command "fan speed" is separate from "temperature." I say "fan speed 7" for the max fan output.
Also I think the low temp for the system is about 58 degrees. I've either said "max cool" or something similar to get it to this level.
To some degree, the voice system is annoying. I seem to work the buttons better.

If you are in the "Auto" mode, the voice command to raise or lower the temperature will add a/c or heat depending on temperature inside RL. But if you are not in Auto mode, lowering temperature will only increase the fan speed and in turn increase outside air flow.
Incidentally, requesting lowest/lower temperature will not cool inside quicker but it sure will make it cooler eventually. 58 or lower seems like overkill!

I believe the above is correct but there is a fairly simple way to accomplish much the same. Use the voice command "AC On" and then "temperature 60 degrees", or whatever the desired temp is. If you need more fan speed then give that command too.
An alternative is to manually press the button "Auto" and then give the specific temperature and/or fan speed command. I often just press "auto" and the temp I like is already set. If the interior is hot from sitting outside then give the appropriate fan speed command. It all works pretty easily in my experience, once you find your preferred way of doing things.

the a/c wont go on simply by stating a low temperature. You need to say "a/c on" and then do the temp setting. However, if you had the a/c on when you truend the car off it should be on by default when you start it up again so you should jsut have to say the temp then.
Also as stated, the fan speed wont change unless you tell it to if you arent in auto mode.
Oh and having a temp of 50 or under would seem a lil' crazy Ron...it's a car not a fridge

It has been in the upper 90's here in the last two weeks. When coming out of work and approaching the car, I use the remote to automatically open all the windows and sunroof. When I get in (if not already activated) I hit the auto button...then the voice button and say "temperature, max cold". After a few minutes going down the road, I hit the one touch buttons to close the windows and sunroof and then say" temperature, seventy degrees"....and the RL is cool and so am I.

I use the same approach as kph3 in that I always leave the system in "auto" mode. I actually haven't changed the temperature setting in a couple of months (granted we haven't had a very hot summer) and the auto mode keeps me comfy, cozy.

NJRonbo...the AUTO button is the "automatic" mode for the climate system and is on the center stack.
Konst_ms....the "one touch buttons" are separate for each window and sunroof. Although, it would be awesome to have one button...listening Acura?

I don't want this to come out the wrong way, but in the owners manual as well as in the little spiral bound reference guide, there are a list of commands on how to use the voice commands for all the systems in the car.
If you don't use the correct instruction, the system will not know what you are saying. For example, when I first got the car, I used to try tp set a Nav course by pushing the button and saying Destination. For the first couple of times, it actually worked. but after that, it would do something other than bring up the set a course ques. It got so bad, I was screaming at the mic in the roof.
Then one day I pulled the manual and saw the correct instruction to start the process was to say Menu. Ever siince it has worked without a hitch. As a matter of fact, 99.9% of the time when I use the correct instruction, the voice recognition works great - more than i can say for the XM display!!!
So my hunble suggestion is to pull the quick guide or owners manual out to see what the proper instruction is to set the temperature.
Hope this is taken in the correct manner. And maybe there is a voice command to raise and lower the windows!?
