A suspension thought...

Had an idea the other day and wanted to run it past the experts here. Given that the A-Spec suspension for the KB1 has been discontinued and the KB2 MMC has "the suspension and ride that the KB1 should have had", has anyone ever thought about trying to use the KB2 springs and shocks on a KB1? Yes, I know the part numbers are totally different but the 2 cars are essentially the same under the sheet metal and I wouldn't think the suspension geometry would be different, just the rates for the springs and the valving for the shocks.

Worth a look? Discuss---

the OEM? Do they offer optional suspension? Essentially you could use anything that fits, is it worth it is the real question. Look at the specs between the KB1 and KB2 in terms of weight/balance and that'll give you a good idea.

Stevie Ray Worn?

Since aftermarket guys such as Tein seem to offer the same kit for KBs 1 & 2 there would seem to be no reason why you oughtn't be able to bolt on later legs to replace your knackered ones.

Stevieray Dunn from legend.org. Had G2 Legends from '98 thru '14. That's what I was thinking---if the aftermarket kits are for KB1 and 2 then the OEM springs and struts should be the same way.

The struts and spring rates aren't the same, but that isn't a concern. Your concern is if the mounting hardware is the same, right?

I would bet they are, but I'm no where near certain.

I would bet they are since the Teins are made to fit KB1 and 2. Would make sense, anyway---

Sorry - word play on Stevie Ray Vaughan.

The only thing I think could be different might possibly the bushes/mounts, but you'd probably carry those over from the car's struts anyway. Or buy new, whilst it's in bits.
