Steering wheel Airbag

Does anyone know where to get a new steering wheel airbag for a 2005 rl other than the acura dealership, my old one is an eyesore, and it drives me crazy but i dont want to spend 580 bucks on one, id rather buy the aspec for that money.

are you talking about the air bag cover?
can't you just clean it?

well i did clean it, the thing about it is well first the chrome acura emblem was coming off, i dont know how, but it was so i decided to glue it back in the spot it was coming out, the glue got on the cover, but i got it off with nail polish remover, but there is some spots on my steering wheel that the finish is coming off around the emblem and there is alot underneath on the bottom. Its just drives me crazy because i like my rl to be clean looknig inside and out and it just hits you in the face as soon as you get in. Maybe instead of getting a new airbag, do you think some places will actually paint it or something?

I see.
Previous owner must have used the horn a lot! Are you in NYC?

I don't have any suggestions - seems like a job for HeavyRL. Check out his arm rest thread as well as previous fix it jobs

You need to use the 90 degree screwdriver, then it is pretty easy, otherwise it is tough.

yeah i used a 90 degree. the only thing was the screws all the way inside on the back wheels are a bitch to get to even with the 90.i ended up prying them out and just using the new screws and locks that come with them and did it that way. it worked out well and as a matter of fact i think they are holding better then before.

i got it from my buddy that works at the acura dealership. i got it for 280 and some change. Your best bet would be ebay probably sometimes you can find a good deal on them or if one has best offer just enter 300 bux or something. The regular dealer prices are outrageous. The steering wheel list price is over boule than what i got it for.

I've been looking on ebay and the black market. Anyone have any other ideas on where to find a drivers side airbag for a 2005?
