Snow Tires/Wheels?

Thinking ahead, given the fact we've had significant snow the past few winters in the northeast and since we'll likely need new rubber next year, what does everyone suggest?
Should I change the wheels for snows?
It has the OE Michelins but, I've had good experience on other cars with the Pilot Sport AS3s but, don't want to alter the ride quality on the RL.
DW is a nertz so, no excuses for being absent. In fact, blizzards, they'll send out SUVs!
I'm skeptical that even with new A/S rubber AND SH-AWD will "cut the mustard" with more than a few inches of powder.

The best snow tires I ever ran were the Bridgestone Blizzaks. 225/55/17 is what I would run. Its narrower then OE but that what you want in the snow.

The Blizzacks seem to be a good choice but, that means downsizing from 18" to 17"

Have been running dunlop wintersport m3 for as long as ive had my RL since 2008 and I swear by them. They are performance rated winter tires vs the blizzacks which are studless winter I believe? 245/45/18 on the a-spec wheels for winter and a separate 19'' summer setup.

Having a separate set of wheels means you don't pay install fees 2x/year. If you don't drive in snow often (maybe 10 times or less), a good all season like the Continental DWS (if it has good tread depth) can get you through most situations. However, if driving in snow is a regular occurrence, most everyone will strongly recommend a snow tire.

Sonny put up a very informative thread in the tires sub-forum on winter tires: https://acurazine.com/forums/tires-w...thread-895457/

Also, ditch the OEM tires when they are done. There are so many better options that will enhance the driving experience.
